Born in Ireland, Andrew Craig is one of Australia’s leading commercial photographers whose clients include a host of major Australian and International agencies and corporations. He has over 30 years professional experience and assignments have taken him all over the world.

Andrew has a demonstrated ability to follow a theme and capture unique human aspects and insights. Understanding a brief, and how to deliver on the challenge of meeting client’s requirements, Andrew is equally proficient shooting independently or in close partnership with creatives and/or clients.

“My passion for photography is deeply connected to my love of interacting and working with people, both behind and in front of the camera. Collaborating with creatives and clients, people are at the centre of most of my imagery. My ability to connect with them and make them feel at ease with the process is, I think, one of the keys of my success.

This driving passion was ignited when I was about 10, by the happy circumstance of my uncle giving me his Rolleiflex camera. Since that moment I have been fascinated with the visual image and have never looked back. Following a Bachelor of Arts ( Photography) at RMIT with its respected industry affiliations, I co-founded the Big Studio, in St Kilda.

Versatility and an ability to make something visually arresting out of what can sometimes be a very uninteresting subject matter is one of my strengths.  Emotion, light and energy are at the centre of my images, which are powered by the use of light and composition, and by coaxing an emotive response out of my subject that might not have otherwise been there”.

People ask me if I still love what I do and I say I pinch myself every day that someone pays me to make pictures.
